Al Ameen medical college was started during the year 1984 by Dr Mumtaz Ahmed Khan. Al Ameen medical college is one of the best top private medical colleges Karnataka. The institute was started byDr Mumtaz Ahmed Khan who  was the founder of Al-Ameen movements. The college is built well and is situated near the Western hills in the city of Bijapur. The college infrastructure comprise of the teaching block, recreation hall, administrative block, basketball stadium, playground, boys and ladies hostel, central library, and 500 bedded medical hospital.

Al Ameen medical college is affiliated to Rajeev Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore and is recognized by the Medical Council of India since 1994. 

Al Ameen medical college has a 500 bedded hospital that has been built to serve the impoverished sections of the society. The hospital provides the deprived with the advanced medical facilities like MRI CT scan, C-Arm Machine, Flexible Esophagoscope and Gastroscope, CT Myelogram, etc. The hospital gives ample exposure to the medical faculties and nursing staff to gain hands on skills on the most advanced technologically updated diagnostic tools and equipments. MBBS Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS Course

1.    The candidate is required to have attained 17 years of age on or before 31st December, 2018.
2.    The candidate must have passed 12th Standard with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
3.    Candidates belonging to OBC, SC or ST category are required to have secured 40% aggregate marks only.

Entrance Exam

The admission to MBBS course is through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, also known as NEET UG.  It is national entrance exam which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET UG will be held on 5th May 2019, and it is a single level entrance exam. The test is conducted on pen and paper model. Candidates seeking admission in Al Ameen medical college must clear this exam with the required percentile as is mentioned below.

The qualifying percentile is different for each category of students. The qualifying percentile for general candidates is 50th percentile, for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST including PWD of SC/ST/OBC is 40th percentile, and for candidates belonging to unreserved PWD, the candidates need to obtaining 45th percentile. 

Admission Procedure

The MBBS admission to Al Ameen medical college takes place through state-level centralized counseling by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).  The KEA Authority conducts counseling on merit basis for MBBS students. 

NEET UG - KEA Counselling

For MBBS course admission, KEA conducts counselling for all the MBBS seats of Al Ameen medical college. The counselling involves a total of three rounds – the first two rounds are conducted online and the third round of counseling is done offline. The third and the final round of counseling is called as Mop-up round. 

The KEA counseling procedure involves the following steps:

1.    The candidates must visit the KEA website online and get registered.
2.    Then, KEA publishes the list of the names ofregistered candidates.
3.    KEA conducts document verification online. (Offline document verification is done at KEA office in Bangalore).
4.    The list of names of those candidates is published whose documents are verified.
5.    The counselling is started and the candidates exercise their options.
6.    The result of the counselling is published. 
7.    The MBBS seats are allocated.
8.    The result is published.
9.    The candidates must exercise their options. ( only during the first round of MBBS counselling)
10.    The candidates are required to report at the allotted medical college. 

The students who are allotted MBBS seats at Al Ameen medical college, must report on the day and time allotted by KEA. And, the offline document verification is done as per the schedule given by KEA. The candidates have to attend the document verification process as per their rank and date.

PG Medical Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria for PG Medical Courses

1.    The candidate is required to have completed MBBS froman MCI recognized college.
2.    The candidate is required to have finished a rotatory internship on or before 31st March of the year of PG admission.

Entrance Exam

The selection to PG medical course is done on the merit basis through NEET PG exam. The National Board of Examination (NBE) conducts NEET PG, which is an entrance test conducted at All India level. The candidates seeking admission to PG program at Al Ameen medical college, should have qualified the exam with the required percentile.
