Introduction About the College

A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences Mangalore (AJIMS Mangalore) was established by Laxmi Memorial Education Trust. It’s one of the most chosen MCI recognized minority medical colleges in Karnataka offering undergraduate - MBBS Course and postgraduate – MD , MS & Diploma courses. The infrastructure of the medical college is well designed and properly maintained by the management. The major facilities available for students in the campus are Air Conditioned Library, Well-Equipped Labs, Air Conditioned Lecture Theatres, Cafeteria, Hostel, Mess, Recreation Facilities, Gym, Pharmacy, etc. Students can undertake their internship at the college associated 000 bed A.J Hospital which is equipped with modern medical technology.

 Admission to MBBS / MD / MS / Diploma course at AJ Medical College Mangalore takes place through KEA/NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test). Students who qualify in the medical entrance exam can secure a seat through merit or under management quota. NRI students must appear for NEET in order to secure direct admission under NRI quota.

Since it’s a minority medical college, the number of medical seats reserved for minority students is more and students are given course fee concession upon submitting relevant documents.

Admission Process


  • The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of the admission.
  • The candidates must have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as subjects of study and ENGLISH as one of the languages of study.
  • The candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in the PCB group and 40% in the case of SC / ST / Category.



The domicile students of Karnataka can seek MBBS admission in A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre through K-CET Entrance Exam. K-CET Admission Process


The Non-Karnataka candidates can seek MBBS admission in A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre through AMPCK entrance exam. AMPCK Admission Process

Note: To secure MBBS admission at A J Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore, the candidates must have to appear for AMPCK entrance exam compulsorily.
